Journey with us as we deepen our faith, embrace our baptismal calling, and become holy vessels for God’s glory.

About Us

We are humbled and honored that you are visiting our website. Our hope is to invite you to explore the rich heritage of consecration in the Catholic faith – an ancient tradition of dedicating our lives wholly to God through specific devotions. At its heart, consecration is about embracing the grace of our Baptism in a deeper way.

At baptism, each of us was set apart for God – we were consecrated as His children. Yet many Catholics don’t realize that holiness is meant for everyone, not just for clergy or canonized saints. The Second Vatican Council beautifully taught that “all the faithful… are called to the fullness of Christian life and to the perfection of charity”. In other words, every baptized person is called to be a saint in daily life.

Consecration helps us live out that calling by renewing our baptismal promises and consciously offering ourselves to God, so that His grace can transform every aspect of our lives. It is a joyful yes to God’s plan – a desire to love Him with undivided hearts as we journey toward heaven.

The Universal Call To Holiness

From Scripture we hear God’s command: “Be holy, for I, the Lord, am holy” (Lev 19:2). Jesus echoes this: “Be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect” (Matt 5:48). Holiness simply means union with God, being filled with His love (charity) and goodness. This universal call to holiness lies at the very core of our faith – holiness is not a luxury for a few, but the vocation of every Christian.

  • Through Baptism, God planted the seed of holiness in us by giving us His own divine life (sanctifying grace). Our part is to nurture that grace to full bloom. Consecration is a powerful way to do this. It is essentially an act of total surrender to God – we consecrate (entrust) ourselves to Jesus, often through the patronage of a saint or a sacred devotion, in order to live “no longer for ourselves, but for Him” every day. In making a consecration, we renew our commitment to love Jesus above all and allow Him to reign in our hearts. This deepens our relationship with Christ and “changes everything” about our spiritual journey, opening us to new avenues of grace. Far from being an extraordinary act only for mystics, consecration is a practical path for ordinary people to grow in virtue and divine love. When we give God our “yes” and entrust our lives to Him, He gives us the strength to become the saints we are called to be.

Sanctifying the Everyday: Popular Devotion & Liturgy

How do we actually live out our consecration and grow in holiness day by day? The Catholic tradition offers us many popular devotions – such as the Rosary, the Divine Mercy Chaplet, novenas, and various consecration practices – which harmonize with the liturgical life of the Church and carry the grace of Sunday into the rest of the week. The Eucharist and the sacraments are the source and summit of our faith, but the Church also “highly esteems” other devotions that are in harmony with the liturgy. In fact, Holy Mother Church calls popular piety “a true treasure of the People of God”, recognizing that these devotions have been “of major importance in conserving the faith of the Christian people” through the ages. When rightly practiced, devotions never compete with the Mass or sacraments; rather, they flow from them and lead back to them. They help us pray without ceasing, weaving prayer and remembrance of God into the fabric of everyday life.

  • Popular devotions are like little springs of grace between the Sunday wellsprings. Praying the Rosary as a family in the evening, venerating a saint on their feast day, or spending a few moments in adoration during the week – these are ways we sanctify our ordinary routines. Such practices keep us mindful of God’s presence at home, at work, at school – not just in church on Sunday. They also cultivate virtues in us: patience, trust in God’s providence, penance and compassion, love of neighbor, and a spirit of sacrifice. The Church’s pastoral wisdom is to integrate and elevate popular piety rather than dismiss it. Indeed, devotions often serve as “springboards” into a deeper sacramental life – for example, praying the Divine Mercy chaplet can deepen our appreciation of Confession, or a home devotion to the Sacred Heart can inspire more fervent Communion on Sundays. In short, when we unite our devotions with the liturgy, our whole life becomes liturgical and prayerful. This is how we fulfill St. Paul’s exhortation: “Pray constantly” (1 Thes 5:17). Little by little, this habit of prayer sanctifies the ordinary moments – transforming daily chores, family meals, commutes, and even sufferings into opportunities to grow in holiness. This is the essence of consecrated living: everything, no matter how humble, can be offered to God.

Here at Consecrati Family Ministries, our mission is to help you tap into this “treasure” of the Church – to live a consecrated life every day by combining sound teaching with heartfelt devotion. On the following pages, we present three beautiful paths of consecration that have borne great fruit in the Church: Consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Consecration to Saint Joseph, and Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. These devotions, loved and recommended by countless saints and popes, are profound ways to draw closer to Jesus Christ. Each involves a total entrustment of oneself to God through the loving intercession of Mary, Joseph, or the grace of Jesus’ own Heart. Each is typically preceded by a prayerful 33-day journey of preparation (with Scripture readings, reflections, and prayers), culminating in a solemn act of consecration on a special feast day. We encourage you to learn about these consecrations and consider embarking on one of these spiritual journeys – whether on your own, with your family, or in a parish group. By consecrating our families and ourselves to Jesus through Mary, Joseph, or His Sacred Heart, we respond to God’s call to holiness in a concrete, life-changing way. It is our hope that through these pages, you will feel inspired to say “yes” to a personal encounter with Christ and the saints – an encounter that will transform your life and fill your home with grace.
